The CBD Process
What is Cannabidiol?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occuring compound found in the resinous flower of Cannabis; a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Today, the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested & confirmed by Scientists and Doctors around the world. CBD; a safe, non addictive substance; is one of more that 100 "phytocannabinoids" which are unique to Cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile. CBD is closely related to another important medically active phytocannabinoid, THC (Tetrahydrocannabidiol). THC is the compound that causes the "high" feeling that Cannabis is know for. Both CBD and THC have significant therapeutic attributes. But unlike THC, CBD does not make a person feel "stoned" or intoxicated. That is because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors of the brain and body. CBD can actually lessen or neutralise the psychoactive effects of THC depending on how much of each compound is consumed. Many people want the health benefits of Cannabis without the "high", or with less of a "high". The fact that CBD is therapeutically potent as well as non-intoxicating and easy to take is an appealing treatment option.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD and THC interacts with our bodies in a variety of ways. One of the main ways they impact us is by mimicking and augmenting the effects of the commpounds in our bodies called "Endogenous Cannabinoids". This was named because of their similarity to the compounds found in the Cannabis Plant These "Endocannabinoid's" are part of the regulatory system called "Endocannabinoid System". The discover of the Endocannabinoid System has significantly advanced out understanding of health and disease. It has major implications for nearly every area of Medical Science and helps to explain how and why CBD and THC are such versatile compounds and why Cannabis is such a wildly consumed mood altering plant. The Endocannabinoid System plays a crucial role in regulating a broad range of physiological processes that affect our everyday experiences; our mood, energy level, intestinal fortitude, immune activity, blood pressure, bone density, glucose metabolism, how we experience pain, stress, hunger and more. If the Endocannabinoid System doesn't function properly, the consequences are disease. Cutting edge Science has shown that the Endocannabinoid System & enhancing Endocannabinoid Tone. CBD can slow, or in some cases stop, disease progression.

The Infusion Process

Pippa is creating her own products from her registered kitchen on the Isle of Man. She possesses fantastic knowledge of the benefits & uses of the Cannabis Plant, particularly the use of CBD as a remedy. We source our CBD from the most reputable producer in the UK which source their plants from small Artisan Farms that utilise an organic growing process. The initial infusion process of the extract is done slowly as an oil infusion over low heat. The plant extract is extracted via CO2 using low heat and pressure. The extract contains a full spectrum of Cannabinoids. This is then infused with Hemp Seed/Coconut Oil to make the range of offerings. The extract used is then texted using a HPLC Machine.
